DERBY PARK

Public BBQ

Derby Park, situated on the main street as you enter the town, is a haven for mountain bike enthusiasts. Its scenic location on the Ringarooma River provides a picturesque setting for campers. The park offers abundant shady trees, inviting visitors to pitch a tent or park their camper. A mere walking distance to all of Derby, the park is especially convenient for cyclists, providing easy access to the town's pubs, cafes, shops, and mountain bike stores. The park is well-equipped with facilities such as showers and toilet block, garbage and recycling bins, picnic tables, and fire pits. However, be prepared for coin-operated showers. The park's proximity to the river allows for enjoyable swimming experiences, though caution is advised during summer due to potential snake sightings. Weekends and holidays can get busy, with the park frequently visited by mountain biking enthusiasts. Nonetheless, the park's size accommodates plenty, even large motorhomes.
